I have a podcast and I edit the video files in Premiere.
Each episode is anywhere from 60-90 minutes long.
I have a 1TB hard drive that contains all the files.
I like to render the file before I export in case I have to make small changes.
Lately, my hard drive has been running out of space because the renders are generating preview files that total close to 500GB.
That leads to an error message that I've run out of storage.
Is there any way to stop these preview files from being created, or from being so large?

Answer:
Under sequence settings at the bottom, what codec are your previews set to? And what resolution is your timeline?.
EDIT: To render your timeline in Pro Res 422, even at 4k 29.
97fps, its under 100GB.
